This trail is a big tourist draw, but is still worth the time to do it.  Much of the trail is either paved or a natural hard surface. It is an up and back route.  As always, it could be a little wet/muddy in some places. You will climb up steep stairs and also go through a lighted tunnel.

 

At the summit, you’ll see bunkers on the crater rim and pretty fantastic views.  Not much shade but there are places to stop along the way if you need to take a breather.
