Although beautiful, of course, along the way, it was a hot and tiring 6 1/2 mile round trip. Partly because 3/4 of a mile of the road has been closed off since covid started. So, you have to walk that distance just to get to the trailhead. This added that extra 1 1/2 miles to the normal 5 mile hike. Uugghhh. Definitely felt that at the end of the hike. No real elevation changes to speak of. Takes you to the furthest tip of the west side of the island marked by a big tower, Near the end you walk through a protected Albatross and bird sanctuary. There were none there at this time of the year. Evidently you can see them in the first 3 or 4 months of the year. Lots of different things along the way to take pictures of, so from that standpoint, it was great,
Thanks for dropping by!
