Kolowalu Trail a butt-kicker

Not much sun the last week, but I woke up this morning to pretty clear skies. I decided I better get out on a hike before our weather turns weird again. I headed to the Kolowalu Trail, which actually starts where a previous hike that I have gone on: Pu'u Pia Trail. The trail was mostly in the forest with some nice views along the way as I got closer to the end. It was definitely a calorie burner, as it was mostly long ascents, with a little relief here and there. I saw some clouds rolling in but was lucky enough to get great views seeing all the way down to the ocean. Took a little break at the top, and then headed back down. It started raining for a few minutes, but the trees provided great cover. I stupidly fell on my way down, I didn't wear my spikes on the way up, as it was pretty dry, but I put them on for the return trip because of the steep declines. My foot slipped and caught the spikes on my other foot, so my feet got tied up and I ended up going end over end. I felt pretty stupid but luckily walked it off without getting hurt. Not the first time I have fallen, and probably not the last.
